Silver Beach Construction Update

Northshore Drive Roadway and Drainage Improvements

Dates for project: 7 July to 15 September, 2008.

Update for the week of 4 August, 2008:

Construction Activities: Maintenance of erosion control facilities Trench excavation for north bike lane and curb/gutter from Silver Beach to Poplar Drive Sandfilter trench excavation (south side) continuing east from Silver Beach Ave - Only a few more days of this Removal of traffic plates over south bike lane from Dakin to E. Connecticut Installation of south bike lane from Martin to Poplar Installation of curb and gutter from Dakin to E. Connecticut Installation of storm drain piping from Martin to Poplar Traffic Impacts:

Full closure of Northshore between Dakin and Silver Beach Ave from 9am to 4pm - Traffic to be routed to Dakin and Silver Beach Ave Full closure of Northshore between Martin and Poplar from 9am to 4pm - Traffic to be routed to Martin and Academy Possible single lane closures of Northshore between Dakin and Poplar from 7am 9am and 4pm to 5pm.

Limited access to residents along south side of Northshore (between Dakin and Poplar Drive) from 9am to 4pm (access can be provide if required, please call Public Works and ask for Mike Olinger, Steve Brown or Freeman Anthony to schedule) Traffic delays up to 15 min for in-road work With the work between Silver Beach and Martin happening, a bottleneck will be created which may increase delays.

Please consider this when using Northshore. Businesses at Northshore and Poplar will remain open and access will be provided from Academy. Road report information is also posted weekly in the Bellingham Herald.Your feedback is always welcomed and encouraged.
